Undersound aka Gareth Evans took up music at the age of 5. He has since turned his hand to many instruments including, French horn, Guitar, Drums, Piano, Trumpet, Tuned Percussion, 'cello and Flute. In November 2006 he fell into Drum and Bass when he was asked to play guitar and piano on High Contrast's 'Tough Guys Don't Dance' album.

Inspired by this, Gareth started producing and dj' ing Drum and Bass himself. Within a matter of months he had begun racking up an impressive list of live sets as a resident at the acclaimed 'Aperture' night, as well as playing at other nights in Cardiff, London, Mansfield & Bristol.

His producing went from strength to strength gaining him regular radio play world wide on many stations including Bass drive, BBC radio 1, 1xtra, Origin fm, Kool fm, BBC Asian Network, Jungle train, After dark radio, Dark wax radio and Kiss fm.

In early 2008 he was spotted by London label 'Future Thinking Records' who signed 'Meet me in my shadow'. Following this, he had a string of releases, including a full length album, two E.Ps and several singles on labels such as Influenza media, Vibez recordings, Good looking records, Phunkfiction records, Think deep recordings, Director's Cutz, Vibration records, Black Reign LTD, Point 9 Audio, Ennex records.

He has been fortunate in collaborating with some inspiring producers including Dan Marshall, Bionic 1, Amaning and Druid.

He is also in demand for re-mixes, having reworked '26 Police' for hip-hop/reggae acts Savana and Junior Reid, 'Lost voice' for Oxford Indy sensation 'Ute', 'Dreaming' for house producers 'Karl G and Jamsie from Born to dance records, and recently a remix of 'still standing' for Miami girl group 'anything but Monday' which is out soon on Universal records.

There's lots in store for 2010 - Gareth will be one of the artists on the new Bassdrive label which will be launching in March at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. There are also continuous instrumental projects on the go including Blame's much anticipated new album and exciting collaborations on Amaning's forthcoming album.
