Carl Matthes is a Venezuelan Drum & Bass DJ/Producer/Engineer who was always interested in music. He got started at a very young age in his formal musical training from the best teachers in the City of Caracas' most well known musical academies. Although his initial introduction to music was by way of instruments like piano and horns, he was always fascinated and excited over the energy of percussion instruments and sounds of battery of drums in his ears. Carl Matthes started combining his melodic musical side with his love for the thumping beats to produce his own unique take on Drum & Bass back in 2005, right after entering Taller de Arte Sonoro in pursuit of his dream of becoming an audio engineer. He has been incorporating all his influences and using variety of different sounds including live vocals to create beautiful music ever since.

The list of heavy hitters supporting Carl Matthes' tunes read like who is who in Drum & Bass. The names of artists he has collaborated with are becoming more and more impressive as well. He hopes to continue working with incredibly talented artists from around the world and represent Drum & Bass to Venezuela and represent the Venezuelan music scene to the world. With several releases already under his belt, Carl Matthes' future certainly is looking bright in 2010 and beyond.
