BassdriveTunes BDT027 - Undersound "The Great Consumer Meltdown" EP
BassdriveTunes is very pleased to present its latest release - "The Great Consumer Meltdown" EP from Cardiff, Wales-based producer Undersound. Just like Undersound’s previous 3 releases on the BassdriveTunes label, The Great Consumer Meltdown showcases his diverse and expansive production talent, fusing elements of each facet of the drum & bass genre with other influences to create a style uniquely his own.
The EP starts firing on all cylinders with the haunting and emotional "Broken Peace Is?", featuring vocalist Nicki Rose. In combination with Rose’s flowing vocals, the track builds into a tremendous drop and textured bassline, instantly ensnaring the listener with heartfelt feeling and dancefloor energy. "Treading the Boards" gives a nod to the harder styles of drum & bass with its pulsating aggressive bassline while still maintaining a flowing atmosphere and composition. Next up, "Listening to Dreams" combines a unique vocal with tasteful guitar licks and ambient vibes which beckon until it is met with a massive explosion of drumwork and a growling bassline, offering a complex interplay between melody and darkness. "In Bloom" showcases the more melodic side of Undersound, with a sultry female vocal leading into a beautiful melody backed by heavy stepping percussion. The next track, "The Distant and the Lonely,’ demonstrates Undersound’s uncanny ability to write for the dancefloor while effortlessly maintaining an addictive funkiness that permeates the entire composition. Finally, the title track "The Great Consumer Meltdown" pulls out all the stops for an all-out bonanza with running percussion and a synth and bassline combination that is sure to have everyone’s hands in the air.

BassdriveTunes is once again pleased to announce our twenty-fifth release, Silence Groove & Skeletone's "Touching Midnight," backed with Silence Groove's " Let Me Love." Just as Leap Day only occurs every so often, it is fitting that we deliver a pair of tracks that one simply doesn't find everyday.
"Touching Midnight" wastes no time, coming straight out of the gate dripping with emotion in a way that simply beckons towards the drama and breadth found deep within the composition. A carefully-placed piano riff rounds out the texture and ambiance as the track develops and moves into its epic drop, the bassline possessing an iron grip on suspense and drive. Silence Groove & Skeletone's well-considered strings and a tasteful vocal sample add a forcefulness and impact which is carried through the main section, while still maintaining an inherent smoothness and fluidity.
"Let Me Love"e; shows a softer side of Silence Groove while still maintaining the highest level of production. As the piece begins, aptly-chosen melodic elements create a vibe even within the early part of the track, segueing to an inspiring vocal before the drop. As thoughtfully chosen strings add to the depth and feeling, so does just a taste of piano which concentrates just as much on the notes not being played as the ones that are.

Being one of the more prolific producer to come along in last few years, Mage has been keeping himself quite busy since his previous release on BassdriveTunes. The hard working dj/producer from Russia, Mage is now a familiar name on the play lists of many djs worldwide through his multiple releases and tireless tactful self promotion and networking. Our newest release [BDT023] features two tunes that are best of Mage's work yet. "Harmony Song" is a perfect blend of classic instruments combined with wickedly rolling beat and groovy bassline that is sure to make everyone's heads nod to the rhythm with huge smiles on their faces. After spending years refining their respective styles, it is no mistake that Paul SG and Andy Sim have become two of the most exciting and distinguished names in Drum & Bass. And it is with great excitement that BassdriveTunes presents our 22nd release - Paul SG's "Do It, But Do It Right," backed with Paul SG & Andy Sim's "Alone Again."
"Do It, But Do It Right" comes right out of the gate with Paul SG's signature drum work, building in steady anticipation while creating an immediate groove by blending a variety of clever percussive cadences along with a deliberate and beckoning horn section. The energy shifts after the drop, with an engaging, yet velvety smooth bassline and expressive drums which really get at the essence of drum and bass, the ambiance scratching away at the surface of his Paul SG's adept production techniques to reveal the simplicity and class that first defined the genre.

Over the ten plus years of Bassdrive's existence, many DJ's, producers and labels have keenly took advantage of the exposure Bassdrive provides to further their musical endeavors. Lending helping hand to an up-and-comer in making some noise and finding success is an integral part of Bassdrive's mission to find great Drum&Bass music being made anywhere on the globe and sharing it with the masses worldwide.
Our latest release features two of the talented young producers (out of several) coming up through the Bassdrive ranks recently. Both producers have been avid fans and strong supporters of the station as well as initiators of a loose collective of younger generation of producers helping each other get their skills up. We kick off the year 2011 with a fresh cut from ATP representing Melbourne, Australia. ATP follows up his previous big release on BassdriveTunes, "Shibuya Nights", with a lush new track called "Hey There" blending just the right dosage of rolling beats and grooving bassline melting into luscious synth leads. After taking a little break to attend Sun&Bass, we are picking it right back up where we left off, and then some! We are very excited to be bringing you yet another great pair of tunes from none other then the one like Stunna! [BDT011] contains a brand new tune from this talented producer called 'Aquarius' on the a side, perfectly setting the tone for the vibe of this summer. On the flip side is a collaboration with Milton Keynes, UK producer Kharm. "Ordinary People" is a unique blend of melodic sounds and solid beats that compliments Aquarius beautifully.
